Volunteering IdEAS
As a result of the limits that COVID-19 has placed on volunteering this year, we have changed our requirements to allow members to volunteer both in person and at home. We understand the difficulty of finding ways to get hours during times like these, so we have compiled a list of volunteer event ideas for this school year. Volunteers may participate in, but are not limited to the events below -- this is simply a list of ideas!
Green Kirkland Partnership
Looking for an outdoor volunteer experience this fall? The City of Kirkland has approved the re-start of Green Kirkland volunteer stewardship events led by EarthCorps in City of Kirkland parks. Safety steps at these micro-stewardship events include:
-
Shorter event sessions with small group sizes
-
Pre-registration is required with no option for drop-ins
-
Face coverings are required
-
Other steps for maintaining safe distance and sanitation
Hopelink Food Distribution
Note: Volunteers must be 16 or older to serve at Hopelink events.
-
Volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes
-
Face coverings are required and all volunteers must wash or sanitize their hands and have their temperature checked upon arrival to the Hopelink volunteer site.
-
If you sign up for a shift, it is very important that you show up or cancel with plenty of time.
-
Please remember that if you are sick or supporting a family member who is sick, do not volunteer. If you are in a high-risk category for COVID-19 and are feeling at-risk, please do not volunteer.
