Compassionate Stitches for Hospice Patients

Description

Do you love to sew, quilt, knit, or crochet?

Volunteer with us to create handmade items that bring comfort, joy, and dignity to hospice patients during their final journey.

We’re looking for volunteers to make:

  • Cozy quilts and lap blankets

  • Soft pillows for extra comfort

  • Fidget blankets for sensory stimulation

  • Stuffed animals to snuggle

  • Other helpful support items

How It Works:

  1. Work from home or with your favorite stitching pals

  2. Use your own materials or consider thrifting supplies

  3. Stitch at your own pace and make what interests you!

  4. We’ll provide guidelines, patterns and delivery instructions

  5. Help us wrap hospice patients in love-one handmade item at a time.

Start stitching your difference!

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Please DO NOT sign up to volunteer at any in-person events if you are sick or believe that you have any symptoms of COVID-19. We would never want to put our members at risk in any way, and there are plenty of virtual or at-home ways to earn hours this semester. If you choose to volunteer in-person, make sure you follow all state and county coronavirus guidelines and stay safe when volunteering!

Additionally, please do NOT skip class to attend events. If an event takes place during school hours, only volunteer if you're in Running Start/have an alternative schedule that doesn't cause you to skip class!
