Event Type:

Snohomish County Christmas House

Description

Christmas House is a 100% volunteer organization and needs hundreds of volunteers to help  make Christmas House a success each year. Without enough volunteers, they will not be able to open. A gift of your time is valuable in making Christmas House happen each year! The majority of volunteers help from Thanksgiving weekend through Christmas weekend while the “store” is being set up, open to shoppers and being packed up. In November/December volunteers help us move boxes and merchandise, set up the store, assist shoppers as they select gifts, provide translation assistance, input data into computers, stock tables and racks, bag up selections and help shoppers to their vehicles.

-Please access the sign-up page:  https://christmas-house.org/registration-2/  If registering for multiple shifts or more than one person, complete the process again for each person/time chosen. Volunteers must complete an entire shift.

-Ages: All volunteers for all shifts must be age 16 or older.

-Abilities: For all shifts all volunteers must be able to lift and walk a lot; some will need to spend time outside. -Food: Water and snacks will be provided. Bring your own lunch.

-Health Check: Please do not come to Christmas House if you are not feeling well, have recently had COVID, or have been near others who have tested positive. At this time, masks are not required, If that changes and you have registered to volunteer, you will be notified in advance so you can bring your own mask.

-A confirmation email will be sent, as well as reminder emails 6 days and 2 days before your volunteer shift. Please note that these emails may go to your junk/spam folder.

-Contact them early: If you cannot come to your shift, please call them as soon as possible. Email volunteer@christmas-house.org or call 206-963-5676.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Please DO NOT sign up to volunteer at any in-person events if you are sick or believe that you have any symptoms of COVID-19. We would never want to put our members at risk in any way, and there are plenty of virtual or at-home ways to earn hours this semester. If you choose to volunteer in-person, make sure you follow all state and county coronavirus guidelines and stay safe when volunteering!

Additionally, please do NOT skip class to attend events. If an event takes place during school hours, only volunteer if you're in Running Start/have an alternative schedule that doesn't cause you to skip class!
