LINKS Lunch Buddy Mentors Needed in Kirkland Elementary Schools

Description

REGISTRATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED: lwsd.org/LINKS

Do you have one hour a week to make a difference in a child's life? Join the LINKS Lunch Buddy Program and connect with students who need a caring adult. As a mentor, you'll visit during school hours once a week to:

  • Eat lunch together

  • Play games

  • Make crafts

  • Chat

  • Engage in other fun activities

Your presence and support can provide the one-on-one attention that helps students feel engaged, supported, and challenged. This can boost their confidence and equip them with skills for lifelong success, both in school and beyond. Research shows that children with mentors are more likely to thrive!

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Please DO NOT sign up to volunteer at any in-person events if you are sick or believe that you have any symptoms of COVID-19. We would never want to put our members at risk in any way, and there are plenty of virtual or at-home ways to earn hours this semester. If you choose to volunteer in-person, make sure you follow all state and county coronavirus guidelines and stay safe when volunteering!

Additionally, please do NOT skip class to attend events. If an event takes place during school hours, only volunteer if you're in Running Start/have an alternative schedule that doesn't cause you to skip class!
