Pantry Partners: Sort, Distribute and Conquer
Description
Akin’s North Seattle Family resource center is seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with sorting and distributing perishable and non-perishable food items to our community members in need. We have two exciting volunteer opportunities available:
Sorting Volunteers
- Date: First Wednesday of every month
- Time: any time between 9-5
- Location: 12360 Lake City Way N.E., Suite 100 | Seattle, WA 98125
Responsibilities:
- Sort through food items and organize them appropriately
- Check expiration dates and remove any expired items
- Ensure proper storage of food for distribution
Requirements:
- Attention to detail.
- Commitment to food safety
- A passion for sorting and organizing!

IMPORTANT NOTE
Please DO NOT sign up to volunteer at any in-person events if you are sick or believe that you have any symptoms of COVID-19. We would never want to put our members at risk in any way, and there are plenty of virtual or at-home ways to earn hours this semester. If you choose to volunteer in-person, make sure you follow all state and county coronavirus guidelines and stay safe when volunteering!
Additionally, please do NOT skip class to attend events. If an event takes place during school hours, only volunteer if you're in Running Start/have an alternative schedule that doesn't cause you to skip class!
